Burr Ridge
Everyone knows that Burr Ridge is the place to be after dark on the Fourth of July; no place around can top the fireworks put on by Burr Ridge's Pleasantdale Park District.
Bridging Cook and DuPage counties, Burr Ridge is an example of the rapidly changing landscape of the Chicago suburbs. Farmland has given way to upscale homes, retail centers and several restaurants. Despite the development in the area, the village has characteristics of a more rural community. Homes sit on large lots and the population is around 10,000.
Burr Ridge features some very upscale neighborhoods, and the town is currently building a new recreation center.
County Line Road provides access to the Stevenson Expressway (I-55) and the Tri-State Tollway (I-294). Illinois Highway 83 and U.S. Highway 45 run through the town. Unlike residents in neighboring towns with Burlington Northern Railroad stations, most Burr Ridge dwellers rely on automobiles for transportation.
High school students attend Districts 86 and204 and grade school students attend Districts 62, 107, 180 and 181.
