Marilyn Kroc, owner of RE/MAX Properties in LaGrange and Western Springs.

It's a rare day that Marilyn Kroc leaves her Western Springs home and doesn't see someone she knows.

"I'm invested in this community for the long haul," she says. "There are people in this area I've helped to buy or sell three or more homes. My approach is to treat people well, to make them comfortable."

It's an approach shared by all the agents of RE/MAX Properties. Marilyn makes sure of that. She won't hire sales associates who don't share her vision of real estate as providing professional and personal service to friends and neighbors.

Marilyn, who grew up in LaGrange Park and is the mother of two, earned her real estate license in 1980 and began working in 1981. She was deemed rookie of the year and acquired an armful of "top salesperson" and "most listings sold" awards.

While working at her first agency, Marilyn was recruited by RE/MAX Properties, and she joined the company in 1985. Ultimately, the RE/MAX Properties owner who had recruited her sold the LaGrange office to her in 1993. In 1998, Marilyn purchased the Western Springs office. Today, Marilyn actively lists and sells in the community, and she continues to provide quality service to her past customers and clients.

Ask Marilyn and she'll tell you, there's no place she'd rather be. She decided to live here because she wanted her children to feel they were part of a community. She wanted to be a room mom at school. She wanted to know the parents of her children's friends. She is deeply rooted in the community and has built a business on the premise that customers are for life.
